Samuel Plaskett, born 1784 in Trenton, New Jersey, son of William Plaskett Jr. and Elizabeth [–] Plaskett. He was among the six children who accompanied his parents on the 1791 river voyage from Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania to Ohio.
The family arrived at Columbia, Ohio in March 1791 after surviving an Indian attack. After his father and brother Joseph drowned circa 1796, the family eventually moved to Clark County, Indiana.
Married Maria Rush on 27 October 1813 by license in Clark County, Indiana. Maria was born circa 1791 in Pennsylvania (parents unknown).
