Plaskett Creek Arrastra

Also: The Arrastra on Plaskett Creek

mill gold abandoned c.1885-

Not a mine but the family's water-powered ore mill: a circular stone-floored basin driven by a water wheel on Plaskett Creek, built by patriarch William Lucas Plaskett about 1885 above the old orchard now part of Plaskett Creek Campground. Remains (redwood beams, iron drift bolts, stone basin) survive and were photographed on a 2026 family visit.
