Born in Anderson Valley in 1856, Mendocina Plaskett was the first white child born in Mendocino County.

In 1856, the Plasketts’ daughter Mendocina was born in Anderson Valley - she was the first white child born in Mendocino County. The family had moved there after landing in San Francisco and spending time in Sacramento.
