Robert Taylor Alderson (c.1860-1939) was a pioneer resident of Bryan County, Oklahoma. Born around 1860, he spent his early childhood in Texas before the family moved to Durant. He lived in Durant most of his life, with the exception of a period before 1919 when he returned and resided there permanently. He married Missouri Ellen Marrs, and they raised their family at 904 North Second Avenue in Durant. Their children included Richard M. Alderson (Tulsa), Barley Hamilton Alderson (Nowata), Julia May Hodges (Durant), and Jerry Alderson (who predeceased him in April 1939). Robert had two brothers: J.C. Alderson who remained in Ector, Texas, and R.B. Alderson of Clovis, New Mexico. He died on a Friday evening in 1939 after an illness of several years, and was buried at Highland Cemetery in Durant.
