William Lucas Plaskett with Fremonts Party at Carson Sink

At Carson Sink in 1848, the Plaskett wagon company fell in with John C. Frémont's party.

William Lucas Plaskett started to California from Iowa in 1848 with a company of gold-seekers, traveling to Carson Sink with ox-teams. Here, they fell in with John C. Fremonts party. It took about eight months to cross from Iowa to Sutters Fort, which they reached with only their guns for which they had no ammunition.
