His father fought the Revolution; his uncle crossed the Delaware. William Lucas came from fighting stock.

William Lucas Plasketts uncle Plaskett crossed the Delaware River with General Washington on Christmas night 1776. His father also fought in the Revolutionary War. This American patriot heritage shaped the family spirit.
