Linwood Mitchell Brings Luther Burbank Plants to Coast

In 1898 Linwood Mitchell packed Luther Burbank's cuttings down the coast and planted a legend.

In 1898, Linwood Mitchell moved to the Coast bringing bulbs, cuttings, scions and seedling trees from Luther Burbanks gardens in Santa Rosa. He cleared a place on a flat on the south side of Mill Creek, frost free and just above the fog line. For his work in his orchard and garden, Linwood Mitchell was made an Honorary Member of The Luther Burbank Society.
