Fifty Children Grew Up Happy and Healthy

Fifty children grew up in the isolated valley — every one of them, the family said, happy and healthy.

During the Plaskett occupation of Pacific Valley, 50 children grew up happy and healthy. There was a strong sense of community in this isolated area.

A band was organized and a literary club formed. The Plaskett boys married school teachers - the trail was so perilous that once in the valley, the teachers married and settled down rather than face the journey out.

The women rode to branding camps and enjoyed barbecues with the cowboys. There were frequent fish fries on the beach and picnics in shady hiding places.
