What the record says

DIGGES RANCH: R.M. Digges owned land above Lion Creek. The location was extremely remote - “a goat could barely get to it.”

THE ORANGE TREE (1950-1964): A fruit-bearing orange tree grew here at high elevation. Sometime between 1950 and 1964, the U.S. Army dug it out and removed it by helicopter, leaving a large hole. Well-remembered locally.
