Revolutionary War soldier who crossed the Delaware with George Washington on Christmas night, 1776. Fought at the Battle of Trenton. Later moved to Indiana. Drowned in a hunting accident in October 1796 along with his son Joseph. Father of Samuel Plaskett Jr. (b. 1784), grandfather of William Lucas Plaskett.
