Mary Price Alderson

Mary Price Alderson was born April 22, 1840 in Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, Virginia (now West Virginia). She was the eldest daughter of Governor Samuel Price of Lewisburg. Her mother was a granddaughter of Colonel John Stuart, “the pioneer of Greenbrier.” She married Major J.C. Alderson on February 26, 1874. She died August 15 (circa 1890) at Mountain Lake Park (summer residence) from cerebral congestion. Funeral at Presbyterian church in Lewisburg, officiated by Revs. W. McC. White and R.L. Telford. Buried at Stuart burying ground, 4 miles below Lewisburg, alongside her ancestors.
